The Rabbit Rises to Spring
This New Year’s collaboration presents a set of lively, cheerful and intelligent rabbit images as
the main motif to welcome the Chinese New Year of the Year of the Rabbit.


Long Di, a native of Chongqing, now lives in Beijing. Her work is a foreshadowing and
reflection on gender relations and female identity, as well as a dissection of being human in
the current historical moment. In the past four years, in addition to three solo exhibitions in
China and participation in group exhibitions.
To her, the rabbit is one of the most spiritual, vivid, and approachable animals in the 12
zodiac signs. For this Year of the Rabbit collaboration with Shanghai Tang, she also drew
inspiration from the richness of the rabbit in Chinese traditional culture and art.

there are different bunnies are shown throughout the collection, all having
different roles and meanings.

This home collection is the first home series collaboration between
artist Long Di and Shanghai Tang.
The fish course plate features three rabbits happily playing on the
grass, combined with Shanghai Tang's classic golden seawater
pattern. The sea breeze, sunshine and grass give a cheerful tone to this
romantic picnic party in Spring.








Long Di created three limited quantity oil paintings, which have the auspicious
symbolism of the rabbit in Chinese culture, as well as the humorous and relaxed
meaning of contemporary paintings.The white, pink, and gold rabbits each symbolize
good health and longevity, the magician-like transformation into a loving heart full of
love, and the congratulation of wealth with a golden treasure.
